Description

As a Vault Dweller:

Tobar the Ferryman was the only sea faring sort of guy that I had ever encountered in the Capital Wasteland before, and I'm not sorry that he's dead. But thankfully, there was another to replace him in the coming days. A fairly stand-up individual, if belligerent, with the tell-tale signs of being a drunkard. Wearing a finely pressed sea-mans coat overtop a strangely out of place blue sweater, he was among the few I saw still wearing a beard, and had a Captains cap on his head. Captain Haddock, they called him. He smoked from a pipe of well-carved wood, obviously of a pre-war make, and had a wayward air about him. I'm not sure which vessel he took to serving as a Captain for, but I'd definitely have considered it to ferry my motley crew of hired help across the ocean..if I ever get tired of The Capital and Mojave wasteland.

Commentary: This cosplay holds a special place in my heart, if for the fact that I both watched and read Tin Tin as a child. Tin Tin was a big thing for me back then; the cartoons played on Nickelodean were riveting, suspenseful, and action packed, and I overall loved the art style that carried over from the comics. The cosplayer told me that it was really the movie that came out that got them into Tin Tin to begin with, and had since been acquiring comic books via amazon/ebay. Rather convincing costume, all in all. The fake nose and beard was a nice touch, though I do remember the Captain being a bit taller. :P On a side note, the new movie was a decent rendition/ compilation of the old Tin Tin story, but I felt as though it was just a tad bit lacking. Still a decent movie, if you're a Tin Tin fan. I'd certainly recommend it.

Ah, yes! I remember bumping into you. I sincerely appreciate your lovely compliments, as well as your adoration for the comics and characters! I'm glad we had the chance to geek out over it, even if I am fairly new to the stories haha! As for the height, I see your point - it always helps when my Tintin is walking around with me since she's a lot shorter than I am ;)

I'm curious to check out the Jean-Pierre Talbot films, ever see those, or as a fan, would you know if they are good??
